Urticaria (Hives)

A research study is currently evaluating an investigational treatment for hives, specifically a type called Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU).

If you or a loved one suffers from hives from chronic spontaneous urticaria, you may be eligible to participate in the CALM-CSU study. The purpose of this study is to evaluate if a new investigational drug called EP262 is safe and effective in treating the symptoms of CSU. Participation will last for approximately 14 weeks, including screening and follow-up. Patients will be asked to visit the study site approximately 5 times to undergo procedures and tests to assess their health. The investigational drug will be provided in the form of capsules to be taken once daily for 6 weeks.

Clinical Partners is a dedicated research site conducting Phase II-IV clinical trials. Our staff is comprised of physicians, registered nurses and clinical research coordinators. We are able to conduct in-patient and outpatient trials through our hospital affiliations.

Our Clinical Trials do not cost money to participate in, and no health insurance is necessary.

To participate in this study, patients must:

  • Be between 18-80 years of age
  • Have a clinical dose of Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU) for at least 6 months
  • Have itch and hives most days of the week
  • Not have other active skin diseases associated with chronic itching and/or hives

*Other eligibility criteria apply. Study treatment, visits, tests, and procedures will be provided at no cost to you. The study staff can tell you about any reimbursement for travel-related expenses or compensation that may be available.
